A British soldier, Lance Corporal Liam Tasker, was inseparable from his bomb-sniffing Springer spaniel, Theo. Together they forged a formidable record of finding IEDs that could have killed. Tasker was shot by a sniper, after which Theo returned to his kennel. A few hours later, Theo died of a seizure.
