Guided-Missile Destroyer Launches Missile and Fires MK 45 Gun

PHILIPPINE SEA (March 17, 2018) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) launches a Standard Missile (SM) 2 during a missile exercise (MSLEX) and fires her forward  5-in MK 45 Gun. Weapons exercises are designed to increase the tactical proficiency, lethality, and interoperability of participating units in an Era of Great Power Competition.
