Military Dad Surprises His Tiny Cheerleader
FARMINGTON, Mich. (WJBK) - What began with a youth football game lead to tears of joy Sunday for a young Michigan cheerleader. Her military dad came home early, giving her an emotional surprise. Kayleigh Potter, 8, gave it her all on the sidelines. She's a freshman cheerleader for the Farmington Rockets. She smiles at the crowd but her own father has never been to a game - until now. Before every game the announcer gives every player and cheerleader their 15 seconds of fame announcing their names one-by-one. This time, Kayleigh's father, Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Potter, was in center field waiting. "I just ran straight to him and gave him a huge hug," the 8-year-old tells Fox 2. "I miss him very, very, very much!"
