Tornado GR4 Laser-guided Bomb Drop

GR4 Tornado from XV(R) Squadron dropping the Paveway III laser-guided bomb, a highly capable weapon used against hardened and concealed targets. The enhanced Payeway III incorporates GPS technology which gives the ability to strike static, mobile and armoured targets accurately in all weather, day or night. This film was shot during the Qualified Weapons Instructor Course, the post graduate weapons course which aims to provide front line Royal Air Force Tornado squadrons and the Operational Conversion Unit with its high level instructors. As graduates they will be amongst the most qualified and very much the most current on all of the more advanced warfighting skills. They’ll become the squadron’s experts at warfighting and then become the primary instructors at warfighting as well to keep the Squadron ready to fight.
