5,000 United States citizens were still in Saigon only 24 hours before the city fell to the North Vietnamese army. The film tells the story of their evacuation and the stories of a few Americans who decided to help our Vietnamese allies to escape persecution and possible death under the incoming regime. Over 135,000 South Vietnamese citizens managed to escape with American assistance. Kennedy talks to Americans who served and also to Vietnamese men and women who became American citizens after getting a chance to immigrate after the war.
