The USAA Poppy Wall of Honor returns to the National Mall for a second straight year this Memorial Day weekend. It will be open to visitors from May 24 to May 26.
The wall will be located on the southwest side of the Reflecting Pool, between the Lincoln Memorial and the Korean War Memorial. The Reflecting Pool will be due North and the WWII Memorial to the East.
The remembrance poppy flower came to symbolize the ultimate combat sacrifice in the years following World War I. The wall features more than 645,000 poppies and stretches 133 feet long by 8½ feet high. Each poppy represents a U.S. service member who has fallen in combat since World War I.
