Tax assistance is provided in the Retiree Activities Office (RAO) at MacDill AFB. This service is available FREE OF CHARGE to retirees, spouses, widows/widowers, and active duty families of all branches of service. Tax preparers are trained under the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program and are certified by the IRS for performance at a level commensurate with most retirees' incomes. The tax assistance program is sponsored by the Staff Judge Advocate and is operated under the supervision of the RAO. This service is available on a first-come-first-served basis during our operating hours. Active duty personnel in uniform will be given priority over other walk-in customers between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tax assistance is also available free of charge at the Brandon MacDill Family Resource Center by appointment.
