13 November 2015 Military Pay

FacebookXPinterestEmailEmailEmailShare

The next military payday is Friday, 13 November 2015.  That’s an even two weeks after the last payday, but notice what comes next:  There are 18 days between the Friday, 13 November 2015 military payday and the Tuesday, 1 December 2015 military payday, and those 18 days include Thanksgiving and Black Friday.  If you haven’t organized your finances around extra spending you might do that weekend, you need to have a careful plan to make this paycheck stretch.

When will that pay deposit show up in your account?

USAA

USAA offers early direct deposit of active duty military pay “one business day early.”  For this payday, that will be Thursday, 12 November 2015.

Navy Federal Credit Union

Navy Federal’s deposit policies can be a little confusing if you aren’t familiar with them.  First, deposits often show as “pending” a day or two prior to the actual deposit, and the pending notification has a date that is actually one day prior to being able to access the money.  Also, Navy Federal has different deposit dates for different types of checking accounts.

Update:  Thanks to an eagle eye reader who pointed out that Active Duty checking account deposits will actually come an additional day early this pay period due to the Veterans Day holiday on Wednesday, 11 November 2015.  Navy Federal customers who use Active Duty checking will see their pay pending on Tuesday, 10 November 2015, to be posted overnight and available for use on the morning of Wednesday, 11 November 2015.  This will mean that Active Duty checking customers will have a 19 day pay period over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Members who use an Active Duty checking account will (probably) see their payments pending by Wednesday, 11 November 2015, to be deposited overnight and available for use on Thursday, 12 November 2015.

Members who use any other type of checking account will (probably) see their payments pending by Thursday, 12 November 2015, to be deposited overnight and available for use on Friday, 13 November 2015.

If you don’t see your Navy Federal deposit in a pending status, don’t panic.  For some reason, deposits don’t show as pending prior to actually posting to your account.  It can be concerning, but it is rarely a big deal.

Service Credit Union

Service Credit Union deposits active duty military pay two business days prior to the actual payday.  For this payday, two business days early will be Wednesday, 11 November 2015.

Everyone else should expect to have their pay deposited on the actual payday, Friday, 13 November 2015, unless you know of some policy that your bank deposits active duty military pay early.  If that’s true, can you let me know so that I can include it in this twice-monthly list?  Thanks!

In case you missed my warning at the beginning of this post, this is an 18 day pay period over Thanksgiving weekend.  Plan accordingly!
