Commissary Remote Location Sales

FacebookXPinterestEmailEmailEmailShare

If you are eligible to use the military commissaries, but don't live near one, you need to keep your eyes open for what the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) calls Guard/Reserve On-Site Sales.  I call them remote sales, because they are taking commissary products and prices to a location that is remote from regular bricks and mortar stores.

These sales are open to all eligible commissary patrons with a valid military ID.  This includes National Guard and families, reservists and families, retirees, and active duty families who just happen to live nowhere near a base.

Upcoming remote sales include:

March 20-21, Yakima Training Center, Yakima, Washington  98903

March 26 – 29, 75th Battle Group Training Div, Houston, Texas  77034

April 9 – 11, 482nd Fighter Wing, Homestead ARB, Bldg 920, Homestead, Florida  33030

April 10 – 11, Air Force Labs, Rome Labs, Bldg 2, 148 Electronics Pkwy, Rome, New York  13441-4516

April 10 – 12, 190th CSSB, Guard and Reserve Center, 2915 Gable Road, Billings, Montana  59102

April 17 – 18, Camp Mabry, 2200 W 35th St, Bldg 58, Austin, Texas  78703

April 23 – 25, HQ 1015 Maintenance Co, 5015 N 34th St, Bldg 900, Forest Park, Georgia  30297-5122

April 23 – 25, Chappell Armory, Camp Robinson, Bldg 3000, N. Little Rock, AR 72199

The links in each listing will take you to the webpage for the sponsoring commissary store.  I strongly recommend you call them and double-check dates, time and locations for each sale, especially if you will be travelling any distance and/or there has been bad weather in your area.  Things change, and it would be a bummer for you to make a special trip just to discover that the truck was stuck somewhere or the location had a power failure or whatever craziness can happen in life.

Have you ever attended one of these sales?  I'd love to hear about them - selection, prices, etc.  I'm curious if they are worth the effort.  I know I save a lot by buying at the commissary, but I have no experience with these sales.
