Veterans Day is viewed by countless Americans as a time to thank veterans for their military service, but for many veterans, serving others doesn't end when they separate from the armed forces.

- A single father who, with his three daughters, created and delivered food baskets to those in need throughout the pandemic.
- A health and safety officer at a veterans retirement community who volunteers his time teaching self-defense.
- A widow and mother of three who is active in school committees and team manager of her son's football team.

These veterans truly represent the veteran community as a whole. In big cities, small towns and everywhere in between, veterans are taking an active role in improving their neighborhoods.
