This year’s Illinois Warrior Summit, 4th Annual Welcome Home Celebration and Midwest Valor Games will be held on August 23rd, 2011 from 12pm-9pm at Soldier Field. In addition to family entertainment, free food, raffles and prizes, the event will feature veteran support services and programs, employers willing to interview and hire veterans, Dept. of Veterans Affairs service stations offering health screens, counseling, and many other services, and 30 colleges and universities ready and able to offer educational assistance.
Not to mention the Midwest Valor Games, hosted by World Sport Chicago, will have:
- Competitive sporting events for 150 injured, ill and/or wounded veterans
- Onsite Sport demonstrations with local adaptive sport program providers
- Soldier Field- Discus and Shotput competitions: Tues, Aug. 23rd 12p-9p
- US Cellular Field - Cycling and Archery competitions: Wed, Aug. 24th 8a-2p
- McGuane Park (Chicago Park District) - Powerlifting and Virtual Rowing: Thurs, Aug. 25 8a-12p
