The U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims reviews decisions of the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA), which is part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This court has exclusive jurisdiction over these types of cases. Types cases heard by the court include: (1) survivor benefits cases relate to decisions on whether survivors of Veterans killed in the line of duty will be granted VA benefits; (2) service-connected disability claims; (3) some disputes over education cases; (4) claims of benefits such as medical coverage and payments; (5) waivers of indebtedness cases; and (6) VA home loan eligibility.
