Many veterans who served in the 1991 Gulf War continue to suffer from chronic symptoms of 'gulf war syndrome' including fatigue, headaches, joint pain, indigestion, insomnia, dizziness, respiratory and memory problems. These veterans may be eligible for disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Benefits may include free, comprehensive medical examinations, including laboratory testing, a Gulf War Registry health exam, the Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry, and health care for the disease or diseases they suffer from that are related to military service. For more information, contact your county veteran services officer and visit the VA Gulf War Veterans webpage.
