To pay lasting tribute to the service and sacrifice of Veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers benefits for burial in a VA national cemetery or a private cemetery. Qualified Veterans receive a government-furnished headstone or marker, grave liner, perpetual care of the gravesite, burial flag and a Presidential Memorial Certificate.
