Each May, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) encourages everyone to actively learn about preventing and controlling high blood pressure. A blood pressure check can be done in your health care provider's office or clinic. TRICARE covers blood pressure screening as part of its clinical preventive benefit. Children are screened every year between the ages of three and six, and every two years after. If you are diagnosed with high blood pressure, your health care provider will work with you to come up with a way to treat your condition. For more information, visit the TRICARE Blood Pressure Screening webpage.
