In 2016, a study by the National Institutes of Health found a link between parents who deploy and anxiety in children. Support is available through TRICARE and Department of Defense partners. TRICARE covers medically or psychologically necessary counseling. It also covers well-child visits and school enrollment physicals. Servicemembers and their families can also turn to Military OneSource to find counseling services with participating counselors and therapists. Sesame Street for Military Families offers creative tools to help children cope with military life.
