The Secretary of the Navy Tours with Industry (SNTWI) Program for fiscal year 2019 was announced this week. The program is described as "a unique and non-traditional opportunity to provide Active Component and Full-Time Support Sailors (E-6 to O-6) the opportunity to work with partnering corporations for up to 12 months." SNTWI fellows work full time in the corporations to which they are assigned with the goal of observing corporate processes and best practices and bringing that experience back to the Navy. Companies that have participated in the program in the past include: VMware, Qualcomm, Apple, Incorporation, Boeing, Tesla, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, GE Digital, Amazon, FedEx, Northrup Grumman, Space X, LinkedIn and USAA.
