The National Archives recently opened a new exhibit to educate visitors of the service and sacrifice of the many that served their country during the Vietnam War era. The exhibit, titled 'Remembering Vietnam: Twelve Critical Episodes in the Vietnam War,' provides visitors an opportunity to understand the decisions that led to war, the events and consequences of the war, and its lasting legacy. The exhibit traces the policies and decisions made by the architects of the conflict and helps untangle why the United States became involved in Vietnam, why it went on so long, and why it was so divisive for American society.
