The Ride to Recovery Program, started in 2008, saves lives through cycling by restoring hope and purpose. The organization's Project HERO (Healing Exercise Rehabilitation Opportunity) provides training and support for community based programs. Begun in November 2010 at Bethesda Naval Medical Center, Project HERO has proven the effectiveness of group riding in the rehabilitation and recovery of injured servicemembers. Veterans participate in training camps and in cycling events. The organization serves over 10,000 veterans. For more information, visit the Ride 2 Recovery website.
