An estimated 500 Native American Veterans are expected to benefit from housing and supportive services provided under the first-ever Tribal HUD VASH program. 26 tribes will share the $5.9 million in assistance. American Indian and Alaska Native veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and who are living on or near a reservation or other Indian areas are eligible for this assistance. The program will provide Native American veterans in need with tenant- or project-based assistance from HUD and supportive services from VA.
