The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program marked a historic first this month when Norwegian and American F-35 maintainers worked together on the aircraft. Five maintainers and four pilots from the 421st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron deployed to Norway for the event June 17, according to a recent release. It was the first time U.S. F-35s had landed in Norway. The exercise helped prove the ability of Norwegian maintainers to service the American planes. The Norwegian Air Force currently has 12 F-35s at Orland Air Base and will eventually have a fleet of 52 planes. Read more at AF.mil.
