The 73-year-old animal adoption advocacy group Animal Friends has announced its new initiative "Pets for Vets Pittsburgh." The new program will pair trained companion pets with veterans who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Another program, "Pets Supporting Vets," offers free pet adoptions for veterans and possibly helps with other needs, such as veterinary care. For more information, visit the Animal Friends website.
