In April, personnel assigned to U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF) are scheduled to complete the required Bystander Intervention to the Fleet training (BI2F) for fiscal year 2015. The goal of BI2F is threefold: to empower Sailors to intervene and stop behaviors that are not aligned with the Navy Ethos and core values, to provide Sailors with the needed techniques to safely and effectively intervene, and to promote a culture in which bystander intervention is expected, implemented and supported by everyone. Each command across the Navy trains facilitators to deliver BI2F training in small, peer-level groups: junior Sailors E1-E5, mid-level Sailors E6-E8 and O1-O3, and senior level O4-O10 and E9. BI2F is required training for all active duty and reserve Sailors and must be completed by Sept. 30, 2015.
