Here are tips on completing a successful permanent change of station (PSC) move during the current moving season: (1) before you make your move application plans or contact the local PPSO, visit the Move.mil website at www.move.mil, for updated information, customer information videos and articles, regarding shipping entitlements, claims, privately owned vehicles and much more; (2) have valid and updated contact information (telephone numbers, email, etc.) in Defense Personal Property System (DPS); (3) have valid and updated contact information (telephone numbers, email, etc.) in Defense Personal Property System (DPS); (4) remember, the desired delivery date (DDD) is only an estimate and the "actual" RDD is printed on the government bill of lading for the shipment; (5) if serving an accompanied tour, encourage your spouse to participate in the (self) counseling and pre-move survey process; and (6) members and their spouses should know about all moving documents they must receive, review, sign, and why these documents are important for a successful move.
