Marine Corps Base Camp Butler in Japan has issued a new base order regarding the use of privately owned unmanned aircraft systems. All UAS must be registered with the Installation Provost Marshal Office (PMO) to record the device's serial number and specific features. The owner must sign an acknowledgment stating that they understand UAS operations are prohibited aboard installations in Marine Corps Installations Pacific. The base also asked residents to report any instances of UAS being used aboard Camp Butler to the PMO. Military violators may be subject to administrative action or charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, while civilians may be banned from base and face other administrative actions.
