The final F-35C with Strike Fighter Squadron 101 “Grim Reapers” left Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, for Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, as the squadron deactivated after more than seven years of training F-35C pilots and support staff. The Grim Reapers originated in 1942. The squadron was originally known as VF-10 and flew F4F Wildcats off the USS Enterprise in the Pacific during World War II.
