Chief Petty Officer selectees will travel to Boston this August for Heritage Week training aboard the USS Constitution. The sailors will be trained on 200 years of Navy heritage and history, including courses on sailing, ship construction, 19th-century weapons and manning her gigs. The final leg of training will have selectees participate in the commemoration of the battle between the USS Constitution and the HMS Guerriere. One hundred CPO selectees will participate alongside 25 mentor Chiefs. Nominations for participation will be processed through OPNAV coordinators outlined in the original Navy message.
