In the largest promotion ceremony of its kind within Army special operations, more than 200 noncommissioned officers from the Psychological Operations field pinned on a new rank May 31, and about 100 more not present were authorized for promotion. The ceremony came after a change brought about by Army and Army special operations leadership to create additional senior-level enlisted positions within PSYOP. In all, 336 sergeant positions were changes to staff sergeant, and 114 staff sergeant positions to sergeant first class, according to a recent release. In some cases, NCOs in the career field had been working for more than a decade without promotion, because of the career field structure. Read more at Army.mil.
