Following the conclusion of a pilot program, the Army is planning to create three new “multi-domain task forces” around the world to conduct training and test the service's ability to respond to threats across warfighting domains, including information operations, electronic warfare, cyber and space. The pilot task force, run by U.S. Army Pacific Command’s I Corps, has already revealed ways to improve future formations, according to a recent release. It will become a permanent task force at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, in September 2020. In 2021, the Army will create a second task force in Europe that will merge the 41st Field Artillery Brigade with an Intelligence, Information, Cyber, Electronic Warfare and Space, or I2CEWS, element.
