The Air Force has its first update to its anti-smoke goggles system for C-130J Hercules in 20 years. The service is exchanging its current four-part system for a three-part system, with upgraded goggles and oxygen mask, now one piece instead of two, but the same nape pad. According to a recent service release, this saves time and makes the system easier to put on and operate. The new googles require maintenance after flight as well as 30-day and 120-day inspections.
