The Language Enabled Airman Program (LEAP) is managed by the Air Force Culture and Language Center to develop Airmen with different specialties and careers who have the ability to communicate in one or more foreign languages. To help maintain language skills, participants go through two phases: an online class and a language intensive training event (LITE). The LITE includes a three- to four-week TDY in the country where the language is spoken in a natural environment, with opportunities to take a class in a local school, teach, take part in a humanitarian mission, or support a U.S embassy.
