LAS VEGAS -- SureFire LLC unveiled its latest weapon light/laser device at SHOT Show 2019, which it developed for special operations shooters.
"It's got white light, it's got an infrared illuminator, it's got a visible laser in green and it's got an IR laser," said Andrew Wright, a spokesman for SureFire, describing the new XVL2 Pistol & Carbine Light/Laser Module system.
"We are very excited about this. ... We have been working on this for about five years for some special operations end-users, and we are finally coming to market with it. It's an awesome capability in a very small package."
The XVL2 runs on one CR123A battery and has a max runtime of 1.5 hours. The white light puts out 400 lumens, while the IR output on the illuminator is 300 milliwatts, Wright said.

"The green laser is super visible for day-time stuff," he said, adding that both the green and IR lasers "are slaved, so if you zero your visible laser, the IR laser is also going to be zeroed."
Shooters can set multiple outputs, such as dual high and dual low, as well as aiming high and aiming low, Wright said.
The XVL2's activation lever is similar to the X300 line, he said, adding that it can also be used with a remote pressure switch for handguns and short-barreled carbines.
The first XVL2s to market will be restricted to military and law enforcement, Wright said, but Surefire is planning on launching an "eye-safe civilian version" later this year.
The XVL2 is projected to retail for $1,350.
