LAS VEGAS -- Gerber knives unveiled its newest automatic folder at SHOT Show 2018.

The company's Empower series was designed for the tactical operator community.

It features a compact, spear-point blade fashioned from S30V steel that springs open and locks with a positive click.

"It's a really strong action," Karrson Koivisto of Gerber told MIlitary.com during an interview Wednesday on the trade show floor. "It comes out smooth but with enough force that you know it's going to open every time."
