Tacprogear recently announced that its new GEN 2 designs for the Spec-Ops Assault Pack (SAP) line are now available for purchase.
The redesigned SAP line comes in three sizes – SAP 1 (small), SAP 2 (medium) and SAP 3 (large).
The GEN 2 versions of these packs include several new features such as reinforced handle (SAP 1) or reinforced padded handle (SAP 2 and SAP 3), loop for ID patches and a new foam pad design in the back, according to a recent press release.
The new line also features redesigned, padded shoulder straps, a quick release waist belt and a durable tarpaulin bottom material for use in adverse conditions, the release states.
The packs still feature “TPG’s unique MOLLE Spine which allows for additional items to hang on the outside of the pack,” according to the release.
The Spec-Ops Assault Pack, Gen 2 also features two large storage compartments, two external pockets designed to fit water bottles, four external side compression straps to help bear the load and avoid any additional stress on the zippers, a compartment for carrying a hydration bladder and an opening on the top of the bag for the hydration tube.
One thing I noticed is that the redesigned waist belt on the medium and large versions of the GEN 2 appear significantly more narrow than the belts on the GEN 1 versions.
The Spec-Ops Assault Pack, Gen 2 is available in Black, Coyote Tan and OD Green. The SAP 1 retails for $146, the SAP 2 costs $184 and the SAP 3 costs $222.
