The NCO earned the Medal of Honor for his actions during an attack on Combat Outpost Keating in the Kamdesh district, Afghanistan, 03 OCT 09. At the time he was in a cavalry scout billet with Bravo Troop, 3-61 Cavalry, 4TH Brigade Combat Team, 4TH Infantry Division.
