Army Secretary John McHugh was briefed Tuesday on the results of the Army's camouflage pattern tests and the recommendations of Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno.
McHugh's briefing occurred five days after Odierno was similarly briefed on the camouflage tests. Army officials expect a decision to be made on the Army's next pattern even though the tests didn't yield a stand out winner.
Military.com reporter Matthew Cox broke the news of McHugh's briefing where he explained that Army leaders have determined the service can no longer stick with the Universal Camouflage Pattern for its combat uniform.
An official from Program Executive Office Soldier could not say when the announcement on the new pattern will be made, but service leaders expect it to be soon.
