PEO Soldier has posted some imagery of the new/rebuilt XM2010 sniper rifle designed to replace the M24/Remington Model 700.
We reported on this a few months ago and there was a bit of a spike in the rifle's notoriety with a USA Today report last week about it (at Army Times Co. we always used to joke "it isn't news until the New York Times has a story on it" when we saw an article about something we'd covered for months...oh well).
But the PEO-posted pics are the first images of the rifle in the field. Looks pretty badass to me...
