As we celebrate 31 days of military spouse appreciation in May, we have scheduled a DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable to discuss specific resources available to military spouses as well as the network and partnerships the department is developing to further assist military spouse education and employment. The roundtable will be held Friday, May 9, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. ET.
Meg O'Grady, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Military Community and Family Policy) and Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) senior program manager, will join us from the Pentagon to discuss the most up-to-date information on how to connect military spouses to career and education resources online and in their communities. Additionally, Ms. O'Grady will share with us how the Defense Department is showing its appreciation of military spouses during the month of May and all year round.
With the Military Spouse Employment Partnership and the Spouse Ambassador Network, the DoD continues to build partnerships through active outreach to corporations, small businesses and community organizations, and is expanding the network of jobs, resources and advocates for military spouse employment. The Spouse Education and Career Opportunities website, MySECO, along with the Military OneSource SECO Career Center provide military spouses with a central point to connect to this vast network of support to meet the challenges they face in their mobile military life.
