If you are one of the few remaining veterans who isn't using the Post-9/11 GI Bill, you'll be seeing an increase in your monthly payments beginning Oct. 1.
The fiscal year 2023 monthly GI Bill payment rates will rise an average of 2.8% over last year's rates.
The annual cost-of-living allowance is being rolled out for all GI Bill programs except the Post-9/11 GI Bill, which received its increase on Aug. 1. You should see the increased payments in your Nov. 1, 2022, payment.
Let's look at how much more you can expect to receive for the upcoming year.
Montgomery GI Bill -- Active Duty
A full-time student using the Montgomery GI Bill - Active Duty will see their monthly payment increase from $2,150 to $2,210, while a half-time student will see an increase from $1,075 to $1,105. Check out all the rates here.

A full-time student using the Montgomery GI Bill - Reserves will see their monthly payment increase from $407 to $439, while a half-time student will see an increase from $203 to $219. Check out all the rates here.
Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance
A full-time student using the Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance program will see their monthly payment increase from $1,298 to $1,401, while a half-time student will see an increase from $753 to $812. Check out all the rates here.

The Post-9/11 GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance and maximum amount payable for private, foreign and online schools increased on Aug. 1, 2021. Check out those rates here.
