MCLEAN, Va – Military.com announced the addition of Phil Ewing to their news team today. Ewing is the new editor of DoD Buzz, Military.com’s defense acquisition journal.
Ewing comes to Military.com after a stint at Politico.com where he served as Pentagon correspondent and authored Morning Defense.
DoD Buzz is one of Military.com’s most popular blogs and is widely distributed among Pentagon staffers, defense industry professionals, and lawmakers. The online defense and acquisition journal focuses on major military policy decisions, budgeting, acquisitions and E-ring developments.
Military.com Editor Ward Carroll said, “I am pleased that we are adding Phil to our team. He has deep understanding of the issues facing the defense industry and the Pentagon. Phil brings an editorial voice that is both distinct and enjoyable to read.”
"I couldn't be more excited to join the expert news team at Military.com,” Ewing said. “I'm looking forward to making all the contributions I can in covering the Pentagon and building on the great momentum DoD Buzz already has in defense procurement circles."
Prior to his work at Politico.com, Ewing worked for the Military Times newspapers covering the Navy. He has reported from warships at sea, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa, Haiti and other military hot spots. Ewing holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and a master's in journalism from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
