Russian Rocket Explodes on Live TV
July 2, 2013 -- An unmanned Russian Proton-M rocket exploded moments after leaving the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan today. The rocket was carrying 3 new satellites for Russia's GPS-like GLONASS system. Fortunately no-one was inured, but local news service Interfax is reporting that nearly 500 tons of fuel from the craft has contaminated the crash site. There's no word on what caused the disaster.
